YouthBuild targets Northern Kentucky young adults between the ages of 16 and 24. The Program helps them earn their G.E.D. certification and enroll in post-secondary education such as college. At the same time, YouthBuild teaches participants construction skills that can lead to a Carpentry Certification. This training can lead to a career in construction, or other careers as the skills learned through YouthBuild are valuable in and across many fields. Trainees are provided with leadership development classes and job searching skills, while contributing to their Communities through service projects. Participants practice their construction skills by building and remodeling housing for low income families through our partner organization, Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky. Youthbuild is a national program; available in Northern Kentucky through NKCAC. Learn about the impact that Youthbuild programs throughout the nation are having on young people's lives. |
