COMMUNITY SERVICES
Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission provides a wide range of services designed to enable low-income families and individuals to attain skills, knowledge and motivations and secure the opportunities that will lead to economic independence.
We provide many of our services through a network of Neighborhood Centers, one located in each county. These centers are the backbone of the agency, making possible the close contact we have with our clients, with local elected officials, the faith-based community, business leaders and other public interest groups. Staff of each center works with the faith-based community, other social services organizations, and business and government leaders to provide needed services for low and moderate residents of the county.
Each of the Neighborhood Centers provide services that respond to local needs and fill locally identified gaps, but typical services include food assistance, a clothing bank, utility assistance, case management, budget counseling, eligibility determination for weatherization assistance, homeless prevention, child care assistance, prescription assistance, and advocacy, information and referral.
Community Services is funded in part by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services; Community Services Block Grant. The Budget Plan and Proposal for the current State Fiscal Year can be viewed at our County Neighborhood Centers during normal business hours, or at our Administrative Offices. You can also contact the Community Services Director for more information.
